He was there all along
I will never forget how God showed me He was near, in the simplest of ways.
I was outside on a spring day. The weather had just started turning a bit warmer, but there was still a chill in the air. As I sat outside, I felt the warmth of the sun hitting me and instantly filling me. For a summer girl, this warmth brought hope that longer, warmer, sunnier days were ahead.
But it was more than that. The warmth of the sun also gave me an undeniable feeling that God was there with me. In the middle of the hard, painful storm, I was living, God was present.
Oh the joy I felt! Just knowing He was present and near left me calmer despite the chaos that raged all around me. I had this unexplainable peace, and a deep sense of gratitude for a Father who loves me enough to stay.
Never in a million years did I think I would find God in the warmth of the sun. But I did, and that changed everything. Not because my situation had changed, but because God was there with me.
